Tax Incentive Framework
The Dominican Republic offers one of the strongest investor tax-shield programs in the Caribbean, backed by three key laws:
CONFOTUR — Law 158-01For buyers of certified tourism projects: no 3% transfer tax on the first purchase and no annual property tax (IPI) for up to 15 years. The income-tax (ISR) exemption applies to the developer, not to the buyer.
Law 171-07Fast-track residency for investors, retirees & rentiers — reduced income tax rate and exemptions on foreign-sourced pensions and investment income.
Law 30-26In force since June 2026: tax on the capital gain when you resell drops from the previous 27% to a flat 10% (passive/personal-use owners).
